About Susanna Smith

a Feel Good Body

It’s all about how you FEEL in your body when you move! My aim is to find easier ways to move, particularly for those in an older body. We want to stay STRONG and move with more EASE without forcing our bodies to move in ways that don’t benefit it in the long run. A movement practice is something that keeps evolving with your changing body. With 18 years of experience in the movement space, I incorporate everything I have learned … and I’m still learning to create a practice you can love. I’m a qualified hatha and vinyasa yoga teacher and an internationally qualified personal trainer. I do my best to make you feel comfortable and super capable in your practice. We work hard, but with a light-hearted approach.

What makes your app different? Will it work for me?
Just like there are many different movement practices and different places to train at, you need to find what works best for you! Which means you need to explore and experiment. What sets this platform apart is the fact that you can let me know what your needs are and then I can create new content or a programme specifically for you. You become part of the pack, which enables you to message me directly if you have any questions, feedback, or simply want to chat. All you need to do is SHOW UP for yourself as best and as often as you can without judgement.
I'm a beginner, is your app for me?
No matter where you are in your fitness journey, I am here to support and hold space for you. Workouts and programs posted in my app are for any level of fitness (if you have been given the go-ahead by a medical professional). I will walk you through all the exercises with easy-to-follow videos and some simple written instructions. You can take your practice real slow to get a feel for it, and as you start getting stronger you can add more - always checking in with how your body feels while exercising. It’s about learning to listen to your body and create a practice that is sustainable and progressive.
Do I need equipment?
It all depends on the practice! Most of my practices just need a yoga mat/towel. For the roll-outs you will need one or two tennis balls and for the rest, you can improvise. In the place of dumbbells/barbells/kettlebells you can use a backpack filled with tinned food or books, or plastic bottles filled with sand or water. I do my best to make these movement practices work for you without having to buy gear. There’s something for everyone — regardless of equipment — to help you create sustainable movement practices that you and your body can evolve around.
